I bought the sliding sealer before and didn't work that too well because sometime you leave it more than it wants and with excessive heat. I like this product because it has a pre-set timer for each type /thickness of bags. I've tested it with the 6.0 ml which is the thickest in plastic sheet at p6 setting which is about 16 secs. It did two lines of sealing and looks good so far.
The device is completely acceptable for the price. The wider surface makes sealing larger packages very convenient. And thanks to the gradual adjustment of the heating time, after a short period of getting used to it, you don't always have to guess whether the package has been sealed properly or not.

It does seal small plastic bags, but the sealing surface is only 1x90mm, so you have to apply it multiple times if it's something larger than that.
